Peppino's has been here for a long time. And for some strange reason, I've never eaten here. Regardless, I had dinner tonight and the food was pretty good.
We sat at the bar, which made us feel like fifth graders (the stools are too low). Service was good, the young lady behind the bar was very friendly and hard-working, she also works up at Killington.
Now keep in mind it's the off-season, during the winter this place is jammed and you'll most likely need a reservation. Supply and demand.
Also was noting, you're not here for fine dining or the decor. This is the restaurant that time forgot; it could really use an update. But if you been mountain biking or skiing all day, safe to say it's a decent Italian meal.
Stopped by in mid-October for dinner. The meatball parmigiana appetizer is fantastic! The veal scarpariello was good, too! Cost-wise, a tad expensive for what was served. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are complaining about re: the interior--yeah it's kinda old, but it looks like a ski lodge. It's fine. Matt, the waiter, was attentive and helpful (pleased with the staff's service from the hostess, to the waiting).
I love Peppino's!! We went for the Sunday dinner promotion, held from 1-6 on Sunday. You. Had a choice of soup or salad, an entree, a side of ziti and two meatballs for $20. I chose the chicken parmigiana, which had two beautifully done, juicy chicken breasts, topped with a tasty marinara sauce and cheese. I will have enough food left over for two more meals. How can you go wrong?
The food is excellent, the service...not so much. Karen was our server and she seemed like she was rushing us to order. My dad speaks no English so when we were translating to him what she was saying so he can place an order her response was "I got 5 other tables" I'm sorry but then you should go take care of your 5 tables and then come back if that's the case instead of being rude. My father dropped his fork and we asked her for another one and she never brought it. Once the food came out she checked in with us once and we had to ask the busboy for our check after waiting for her for a good 20 minutes with empty plates in front of us. The hostess and busboys were amazing and really provided amazing service. The server next to us also seemed to provide great service for his tables. I wish our experience was different.
When you spend alot of $ at Restaurant, you expect either amazing food or amazing atmosphere or both...Don't expect either one at this place. The decor is very outdated and the food is "ok"... no where near the price tag.
